Lily’s 1st Halloween

This is Lily’s first Halloween and we could not miss all the opportunities to make everything special for her (and us!).  We took Lily to her first pumpkin patch at the Irvine Regional Park on October 14th.  She was so fascinated with all the colors and that was the first time she’s seen pumpkins too!  Everytime someone passes by, they always stop and say “Look!  There’s a baby on the pumpkins!!”  Lily was an attraction of her own, haha!  The pumpkin patch was so fun, they had carnival games, food, train rides, pony rides, face paintings, and more!  Khoa and I ended up getting so much allergies from the pumpkin patch, but Lily was a trooper and knocked out at the end and was completely fine.  What a strong girl!

We bought a super large pumpkin, it costed us about $16 I think, not bad!  I bought a fall garland and a thing of fake flowers and a Lily size pumpkin and decorated the the pumpkin base.  We used the back of Lily’s blanket for the background, and took this awesome shot of Lily inside the pumpkin!!  I just had to do this because when will she ever be this small to fit inside a pumpkin??  To our surprise, she actually really loved it in the pumpkin.  She was very intrigued and kept playing with the newspaper Khoa laid inside the pumpkin, and she just sat in there super happy and content!  I am very pleased with the outcome of this photosession! =)

Shopping for a costume was quite hard because there aren’t that many costumes out there for babies at Lily’s age.  Most of the costumes I saw were for 6 months and up, and then there’s onesie that have Halloween images on it but it’s not really a costume.  So I ended up buying this cute strawberry costume, it’s for the age 6-12 months, but I was hoping Lily’s long length can help make it work, for the most part, I think she looks quite darling and berry cute in it!  The costume came with a head piece, but I didn’t like it because it was too bulky and big, so I used one of her headbands and cut out green leaves on felt and made my own headpiece for Lily!  I did the same thing with Lily’s pumpkin picture too!  We didn’t go trick or treating because we feel Lily’s too young for it, it’s more of a hassle than anything at this age, so we just enjoyed the evening at home, carving out our pumpkin and passing out candy!  Lily won’t remember her first Halloween, but these pictures will definitely be memorable!  Happy Halloween everyone!!

Also, enjoy this video of Lily making cute raspberry noises with her mouth!  She doesn’t do it in the second half of the video but I kept rolling in hopes she did, so sorry in advance for the anti climactic ending haha.  Enjoy!!
