Lily Starting to Crawl!

Lily (33 weeks & 2 days old) just started to crawl for the first time today and I’m glad to capture it on camera!!  Before she would use her arms and pull her body forward, or just roll all over the place to get to where she wants to be, and just a couple days ago she’ll stick her butt up in the air but then scoot backwards haha!  Today she was actually able to get onto her knees and move FORWARD!  We are sooooo proud of our little baby!!  She always tries to reach for her toys, that we place that’s strategically a little bit too far from reach, with so much determination and keeps trying with all her might until one of us (“ahem..daddy) caves in and gives her her toy haha.  Before we know it, she’ll be crawling all over the place, time to baby proof the house!

Another milestone is that she was able to stand all by herself while leaning against the patio cushions yesterday. It was amazing, I didn’t know she can do it! When Khoa let her go, I decided to snap a few photos to capture that moment, but she kept standing there for a good 2 or so minutes! Stop growing up so fast Lily!! We are super proud of you though! We love you the most our little angel!!!  Check out her sassy little pose too!!

Lily also got to visit my dad’s godparents today, whom we call Ong Ba Noi! They pretty much are like grandparents to us, so they are like lily’s great parents now! I’m glad we were finally able to make it out to Los Angeles to visit so they can see Lily for the first time!! Yay for family love!

We also randomly ran into Drexelle, David, Knightly and Drexelle’s family at dinner today at Mascarpone’s Italian Ristorante in Orange! What a crazy coincidence that we were both there for the first time too! The ambience was very intimate so we decided to take a photo of Knightly and Lily having a night romantic dinner date together! Oh the things parents can do with their babies =).

Almost Conversation w/Lily!

Lily (32 weeks & 5 days) likes to babble a lot now and her voice is so darn cute I just had to record it! Check it out for yourself!

Lily Videos!

Lily (32 weeks & 3 days old) is getting so good walking on her Around We Go Activity Station!  She also loves watching Luna play!

Lily (32 weeks & 3 days) just started finger foods last week, and only started eating these multigrain cheerios just 2 days ago, and she’s already getting so good at eating them by herself!  It’s so cute when she doesn’t realize the Cheerios are stuck to her face, or hand, it’s like the just magically disapeared!  Watch this little cute chomp on her yummy cereal!

Healthy Eating Happy Baby!

Chicken Soup

One of our goals in parenting is to have a happy healthy baby, and so our goal is to make our own healthy foods for Lily!  We’ve started Lily on solids when she was just about 6 months old.  We made her some pureed butternut squash!  At first she was surprised by the foreign taste in her mouth, and kept pushing the spoon away and refused to eat.  So we tried again the next day, and it was a complete 180 and she was loving every bite!  She even opened her mouth for more, and leaned her head towards the spoon!  It’s so amazing the things she picks up on and so fast too!  We then gave her veggies like peas, carrots, leaks, etc, and fruits like pears and peaches and blueberries. We use our super wonderful Ninja Blender to puree her foods to a nice smooth consistency, then we freeze them in ice cube trays, then put them in labelled zip lock bags (thanks Chi Hai for this amazing tip!)

Mini Minestrone

So far the only foods she hasn’t been too fond of is avocados.  We will keep trying though!  Some of her favorite meals have been the more fancy ones like her chicken soup that had organic chicken breast, sweet potatoes, carrots, leaks, and chicken broth!  It does take some time to prepare her food, but you just prepare a bunch at once and the food will last a couple weeks!  Last night I made a few more batches of food for Lily, mini minestrone, and a fruit puree of blueberries, peaches, and pears, and it took a bit of time, and I would have loved to just relax on the couch and watch tv, especially after a long day’s work, but Lily’s health is more important to me.  I feel accomplished after I prepared all her food, and I feel great that I’m pushing myself to keep this up for Lily’s sake!  Also, it’s good practice to make sure Khoa and I eat healthy as well, to set an example for Lily, and to make sure we’re around for a long time to see Lily blossom!  Most of all, every time I feed Lily, I know I’m giving her the proper nutrients she needs to grow into a happy strong healthy person.  We are also starting Lily on finger foods as well, so she can practice her pincer grasps!  She was actually trying really hard to pick up the cut up pieces of banana with her thumb and pointer fingers and she was even able to put a piece in her mouth!  We are so proud of our little baby!  It’s exciting to see her develop these new milestones, but it’s so sad to see her grow up so fast!  *sigh… however, it’s a happy sadness, if that makes sense.   Seeing her eat is also super cute as well!!!  There’s just something about babies eating that is just so darn cute!  Check it out for yourself!

Happy 7 Months Lily!

Happy 7 months old my precious Lily pad!  Lucky number 7, and she is definitely my silly little lucky charm!!  She turned 7 months old 3 days ago, but today she had her follow up flu shot, so I wanted to weight to get her measurements so I can document it!  Unfortunately she didn’t get any measurements done at the office so I did a couple myself!  She is currently weighing in at 16.2 pounds and she is about 25.5 inches long!  I think she’s right where she needs to be, but most importantly, she’s strong and healthy and super happy! We cannot ask for anything else, we are constantly over the moon over our little angel.  She really is such a happy baby and seeing her before I sleep, and first thing when I wake up, makes each day a special one.  I love all her silly faces she makes, I love her toothless (mostly toothless, her bottom 2 middle teeth is coming in!) smile, I love her pouts which she rarely does, but I love it when she does it.

I love all the little baby sounds she makes, her bubbling mumbles and raspberries, and even the sound of her whines and cries.  I love her sweet baby smell, her super soft skin and her crazy wild hair!  At 7 months, she is almost about to crawl all over the place!  Right now she is very determined to reach for her toys, and a few times she will use her arms and pull her body forward!  I feel like she will full on crawl any time now!  She rolls around like crazy now, and she loves to stand and bounce.  She’s is also really good at sitting unsupported and likes to pass her toys from one hand to the other and then stick it in her mouth!  Haha.  Just last week she uttered the word “mom” several times as well.  I was so excited I grabbed the camera and started rolling!  She was eating her dinner at the time and also very sleepy, so the video was quite chaotic, but it’s my proof she said it!  It’s a long video so I won’t post it, but next time, I will be sure to capture it again soon!  It’s amazing all the new sounds she’s making, she really favors the “m” sound, lucky me!! =) Every time she sits there playing on the carpet, I just think to myself how crazy time has gone by.  Lily is like a tiny little person, independent, cute, so smart! Where did my baby go??  Luckily she still is a baby, but she will always be my baby forever!!!  Happy 7 months Lily!  Mommy and daddy is soooo proud of you, we love you soooo much!!!!!!

Lily’s Sense of Humor

Lily has such a funny sense of humor, I love it!!!!

Khoa made this one hehe!

Happy 2013!

Happy New Year, welcome 2013! Although Lily was very fast asleep before the stroke of midnight, we decided to let her get all dolled up to ring in the new year a few hours early so she can still be a part of all the festivities and new years spirit!  Khoa went to Party City and got her a cute little new years hat, cone whistle, and we had a gold necklace at home for her to wear, and she was all ready to party!  The party consisted of me, Khoa, Luna, and Lily, at our house watching TV!  haha.  I know, we like to go crazy, that’s how we roll!  It’s just nice to relax after Christmas, and cozy and comfortable on our couch snuggled up together, and enjoying the celebration in the comfort of our home.  Also, the main thing for me was that we were safe inside our house and didn’t have to worry about all the crazy dangerous potential drivers out there on this kind of night.  I like to watch Dick’s Clark’s New Years Eve on TV, and watch the ball drop, and so even though Lily was sleeping, I got to see it with my soul mate  Khoa!  It was a nice and simple!  I can’t wait for what this year has in store for us!  I look forward to all our new adventures together, and I feel like whatever life throws at us, we will be able to conquer it together, and share lots of wonderful memories.  Happy new year everyone, here’s to making new happy memories!
