Lily’s 1st Halloween

This is Lily’s first Halloween and we could not miss all the opportunities to make everything special for her (and us!).  We took Lily to her first pumpkin patch at the Irvine Regional Park on October 14th.  She was so fascinated with all the colors and that was the first time she’s seen pumpkins too!  Everytime someone passes by, they always stop and say “Look!  There’s a baby on the pumpkins!!”  Lily was an attraction of her own, haha!  The pumpkin patch was so fun, they had carnival games, food, train rides, pony rides, face paintings, and more!  Khoa and I ended up getting so much allergies from the pumpkin patch, but Lily was a trooper and knocked out at the end and was completely fine.  What a strong girl!

We bought a super large pumpkin, it costed us about $16 I think, not bad!  I bought a fall garland and a thing of fake flowers and a Lily size pumpkin and decorated the the pumpkin base.  We used the back of Lily’s blanket for the background, and took this awesome shot of Lily inside the pumpkin!!  I just had to do this because when will she ever be this small to fit inside a pumpkin??  To our surprise, she actually really loved it in the pumpkin.  She was very intrigued and kept playing with the newspaper Khoa laid inside the pumpkin, and she just sat in there super happy and content!  I am very pleased with the outcome of this photosession! =)

Shopping for a costume was quite hard because there aren’t that many costumes out there for babies at Lily’s age.  Most of the costumes I saw were for 6 months and up, and then there’s onesie that have Halloween images on it but it’s not really a costume.  So I ended up buying this cute strawberry costume, it’s for the age 6-12 months, but I was hoping Lily’s long length can help make it work, for the most part, I think she looks quite darling and berry cute in it!  The costume came with a head piece, but I didn’t like it because it was too bulky and big, so I used one of her headbands and cut out green leaves on felt and made my own headpiece for Lily!  I did the same thing with Lily’s pumpkin picture too!  We didn’t go trick or treating because we feel Lily’s too young for it, it’s more of a hassle than anything at this age, so we just enjoyed the evening at home, carving out our pumpkin and passing out candy!  Lily won’t remember her first Halloween, but these pictures will definitely be memorable!  Happy Halloween everyone!!

Also, enjoy this video of Lily making cute raspberry noises with her mouth!  She doesn’t do it in the second half of the video but I kept rolling in hopes she did, so sorry in advance for the anti climactic ending haha.  Enjoy!!

Lily Squeals!

Lily ( 19 weeks 3 days) started squealing now when she “talks”.  It’s so cute!  Enjoy this conversation she has with the camera haha!

Lily Flying and Plays with a Mirror Wall

Lily (18 wks & 6 days) just got her very own infant wall mirror installed in her nursery today, and she loves it! She immediately smiled at her reflection and started kicking and swimming in place! She doesn’t know she’s seeing herself yet, but now she has a new friend always there waiting to play with her! I can’t wait to watch her develop and grow with this new wall mirror with an attached hand rail! I can see her doing ballet exercises on it in the future!! =D

Lily had some play time with daddy tonight and I got another video of her precious laugh! Looks like our Lily pad is going to be an adventurous little girl! She loves the speed and elevation! I can’t get enough of her laugh, it melts my heart each time I hear it!

Lily Loves Her Jumper!

Lily (18 wks & 3 days) is really starting to play with her jumper more and she seems to really enjoy!  Thank goodness otherwise it’d be a waste of a good toy!  Lily seems to really concentrate on her play time and is really enjoying herself, and even talks to her toys!  In this video, she keeps swatting at her ear too, later I realized she accidentally scratched her check so it was probably itchy haha.  Anyways, check out this cute video that I got where I caught her talking with her toy, and then she’s happy to show me her toy, too!  She’s such a cutie!

Lily Plays Piano and Holds her Bottle!

Lily (18 weeks old) just got her very first piano on Tuesday, and she really loves it!  It’s never too early to learn about the joys of music!  She does tip over to the side a little bit near the end, but don’t worry, I’ll never let her hurt herself, not on my watch!!  She can ALMOST sit by herself unsupported too, so it’ll be a matter of time!  Watch our little Lily pad discover the world of sound on her own Lily size Srhoenhut piano!

Lily also held her own bottle for the first time today!!  She held her bottle in the past but she mostly just knocked it out of her mouth.  This time, she actually supported the bottle while drinking!  When it happened, I just couldn’t pass up the opportunity to capture it, so sorry for the shaky quality of the video, but I was by myself feeding her so this was the best I can do!  Her longest streak was maybe 2 minutes of holding her own bottle and drinking!  Way to go Lily!!  We are so proud of you!!

Lily’s 4 Month Check-Up!

Lily (4 months 3 days) got her 4 months check up today and got her shots as well (1 oral, and 3 shots). She did so well and only cried for maybe a minute!! What a brave baby!! She weighs 13.85 pounds (50th percentile), her head is 16 inches in circumference (50th percentile), and she stretches 25 inches long (80th percentile). She’s doing so great and growing nice and tall, good job baby girl!! The doctor said she’ll have growth spurts (she grew 3 inches in 2 months!) so next time she might not grow as much, but the important thing is she’s growing! =) She’s also really strong when it comes to standing on her legs and supporting her body weight as well, and she has a very strong neck and masters the push-ups during tummy time!  When we went home, she took a nice long nap and was happy and playful when she woke up!  She wasn’t fussy or had any fevers, way to go my Lily pad!!

It’s always painful and heartbreaking to see our baby cry, but here’s the video of her getting her 4 months shots. Don’t worry, the crying doesn’t last that long =).  Mommy and daddy are so proud of you baby girl!!

Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend!

Lily not knowingly waiting for her ear piercings. Look how innocent she looks!!

Lily (4 months 1 day) gets her ears pierced for the 1st time!!  I figured I wanted to get them done when she’s really young, because that’s when I got my ears pierced and I’m really glad my mom did it when I can’t remember the experience!  Plus I think it’s a good age to do it because they won’t know what hit them and then when they realize it, it’s already over!  Lily at first had a delayed reaction to the piercings, she probably pouted and then cried maybe a few seconds after the first piercing went into her left ear.  She probably cried for maybe a couple minutes afterwards, but after that, she was good as new and acted like nothing happened!

Poor girl!!

We went with a small cubic zirconium with 14k yellow gold. We got her ears pierced at the Piercing Pagoda at the Brea Mall, so after the piercing, we walked around some stores and she loved looking at all the bright colors and lights from the different stores, so that cheered her up!  We are so proud with how brave she was and how she took it like a champ!!  I know she will enjoy dressing up her ears in the future, and I will admit, I’ll have a lot of fun as well!  After we got home from the mall, she ate her last meal of the night, had a nice bath and went straight to bed!  That’s our girl!! =)

Lily’s perfect ears before!

Lily’s pretty ears after!

Happy 4 Months Lily!

Happy 4 months old our precious Lily pad!!  Today is a very special day because Lily finally made one of the sounds we’ve been waiting for, her laugh!  It was incredible and I’m so glad I was able to capture it on video!  Khoa was playing with her and all of a sudden she did a REAL chuckle, and when I heard it, I GASPED!  And then she did it AGAIN!  I grabbed my camera and ran over and started recording this precious sound that totally melted my heart!!  We were trying so hard not to laugh out loud so we can hear her precious laugh!  I love you so much my Lily pad!!!!  You just made mommy and daddy’s day, week, month, and year!!  Lily will be having her 4 month check up this Thursday, so I will have her measurements then!  She’s still very good with sleeping 10-12 hours at night, and she still eats 5 fluid ounces at each feeding, once in a while she’ll eat 6 fluid ounces before her night’s sleep.  She drools and spits up a lot, but I can sorta see a tiny faint white line in her gums so that means her teeth should be coming in any time now!!  She’s such a good baby and I cannot say this enough, Khoa and I are truly the luckiest parents in the whole world!!  Enjoy this precious video of our sweet baby girl laughing, the first of many to come!!!
